This month the debut of vivo X Fold 6 is awaited, the company’s new flagship foldable. Much has been said about its specs, particularly regarding changes on the chipset side and its Camera Phone ambitions, but so far there were no hints about the design.
Yet, without any warning, the X Fold series flagship seems to have surfaced in the hands of a well-known Chinese actress: the sighting occurred in one of the least expected moments you could imagine!
On the Chinese social network Weibo, photos are circulating showing actress and singer Zhu Zhu holding an unknown folding smartphone. The celebrity was spotted while enjoying the women’s final of Roland Garros, played on Saturday in Paris.
The phone in question is a Vivo-branded model, featuring a new blue-green shade for the X Fold lineup. The current Vivo X Fold 5, in fact, is available in a green very different from the one seen in the photos: it seems this is indeed an unknown smartphone!
The thinking immediately turns to the vivo X Fold 6, arriving right in June — according to rumors so far. From the photos taken at the event, a slim profile, an inward-fold design (with a large folding screen turning inward), and a round camera module emerge.
As of writing, the company has not yet confirmed the date and features of its upcoming foldable. However, the leak machine has been running for some time: the X Fold 6 would abandon Qualcomm in favor of MediaTek’s Dimensity 9500. A shift in direction for a device historically tied to the Snapdragon family.
As for other novelties, we should find a 6,900 mAh battery while the camera system would rely on a 200 + 50 + 50 MP triple with ultra-wide and periscope telephoto. Rumors also speak of the addition of a multispectral sensor to improve color fidelity.
The fingerprint reader would be mounted on the side while on the software side, the company has confirmed the debut of OriginOS 6 Fold — a version designed specifically for the foldable format.
