The Korean manufacturer is preparing to launch a handful of new smartphones in the A series, its mid-range lineup. The most tangible model is certainly Galaxy A27, already at the center of a string of rumors. But in fact the summer months will also bring yet another model: the time for Galaxy A18 5G is getting closer and the evidence comes directly from Samsung’s servers.
The current mid-range generation includes Galaxy A17 and the models A37 and A57; as highlighted at the opening there is still a phone missing to close the circle and move on. Galaxy A27 should be announced soon: the amount of rumors is insane, with rendered images and a practically complete spec sheet (though the result of leaks).
The launch is expected in the coming weeks but already the first clues about the next generation have appeared. As usual, the company should launch Samsung Galaxy A18 5G this year while the rest of the family is expected in the first half of 2027 (A28, A38 and A58).
The current A17 was unveiled in August, so it is very likely that the successor will arrive in the same period.
While waiting to learn more — between leaks and official confirmations — in Samsung’s servers a firmware dedicated to the Galaxy A18 has appeared for the first time. The software shows version A185FXXU0AZF2 while the phone’s model is SM-A185F.
It seems to be the LTE version but don’t be fooled because the A17 model arrived in both 4G and with 5G support. Also it would be a build based on Android 17, therefore with the new One UI 9. The next incarnation of Samsung’s interface will be announced in July, together with the new generation of foldables Z Fold 8 and Z Flip 8.
There is no information on the design and specifications of Galaxy A18. Still, we expect a mid-range device around €300 (the street price will certainly make it more attractive), equipped with an AMOLED display and an Exynos chipset, with at least 5,000 mAh of battery and a main camera with optical image stabilization.
