POCO C95 Pro 4G will be the first “Pro” in Xiaomi’s entry-level range

A new budget phone in the POCO lineup has been certified: the device, designated 2606FPC72Y, appeared in the IMDA database with details on the various connectivity features. At the moment there are no technical details, but according to rumors it could be the future POCO C95 Pro 4G, the first model of the C series accompanied by the label Pro.

Typically the term Pro is used by POCO for its higher-end smartphone families, namely the M, X and F series. The C lineup includes the brand’s most affordable devices: it’s the entry-level line of Xiaomi’s offshoot, basic phones at affordable prices.

Things could change with the POCO C95 Pro 4G, although for now there is no confirmation from the company. The device is expected to feature the Snapdragon 6s Gen 2 from Qualcomm, an octa-core SoC built on a 6 nm process and with a maximum clock of 2.9 GHz.

In terms of memory there would be various configurations, up to a maximum of 8 GB RAM and 512 GB of storage. The model number 2606FPC72Y could provide clues about the release, as is the tradition for Xiaomi brand codes: 2606 should indicate June, so the debut is expected for this month or at least soon.

The smartphone is expected in certain markets as POCO C95 Pro 4G, while in others it should pop up as Redmi 17 4G. Xiaomi’s rebranding strategy has been ongoing for years, so it’s not surprising: the bond between POCO and Redmi is very strong and the same phones are often launched under either brand.
