Once again there will be differences between the Chinese version and the international version of the Reno series. The confirmation comes from Geekbench, although the final word – as always – rests with the company. OPPO Reno 16, launched in China at the end of May, is ready to make its appearance also in other markets – but there will be a different chipset.
OPPO Reno 16 Global spotted on Geekbench: how the international mid-range version will change
Based on what emerged thanks to Geekbench benchmarks, OPPO Reno 16 Global will have on board the Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 – with 12 GB of RAM and Android 16 on the software side. The mid-range would thus switch to Qualcomm, while the Chinese version was announced with the Dimensity 8550 Super. The phone does not appear with its commercial name, but with the code CPH2865 (already identified in various certifications).
Also the current OPPO Reno 15 Global runs the Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 while the model released in China features the Dimensity 8450. The brand is usually making these changes when moving to international markets, and we also expect differences between the Chinese Reno 16 Pro and the Global one.
And the rest of the specs?
Based on what happened with the current generation, we can start making guesses about what will change with OPPO Reno 16 Global. Very likely the international version will have a larger screen, moving from the 6.32″ of the Chinese cousin to a 6.59″ diagonal panel.
Beyond the chipset, changes could also affect the camera setup: in the Chinese version we have a triple-camera configuration of 200 + 50 + 50 MP with ultra-wide and periscopic telephoto; the Global device could drop the main sensor in favor of a 50 MP solution, but keeping the other two modules.
Clearly these are speculative, so we are waiting for leaks or official confirmations to get the full picture.
