Nothing Phone (4b) surfaces on Geekbench just days before launch

The debut of the new smartphone from the London-based company led by Carl Pei is almost here. The Nothing Phone (4b) is set to make its official market debut on July 7, with the launch event officially scheduled for 12:30.

Although the company has so far limited itself to sharing only a simple preliminary draft relating to the device’s aesthetics, the smartphone has recently left a decidedly clear fingerprint on the servers of the well-known benchmarking platform Geekbench.

This appearance has proven valuable in shedding light on fundamental technical specifications and confirming the advanced state of the device’s development, which has been identified in the test databases under the code A009P.

Nothing Phone (4b), here are the first leaked specifications

The benchmark entry has revealed concrete details about the smartphone’s hardware architecture. The device’s SoC relies on the chipset Qualcomm SM6650, a component better known to the public as Snapdragon 6 Gen 4.

Inside this SoC we find the GPU Adreno 810 and a RAM of 8 GB, a quantity adequate to ensure smooth everyday navigation and background apps running.

From a software perspective, the data confirms that the device will run the operating system Android 16, with a probable update to Android 17 planned for the near future.

The results recorded during Geekbench tests provide a fairly precise indication of the smartphone’s capabilities: specifically, the product scored 1,088 in single-core tests and reached 3,155 points in multi-core scenarios, confirming responsiveness and computing power absolutely in line with its potential class.

Market positioning and design choices

Analyzing the company’s catalog, the commercial strategy suggests the Nothing Phone (4b) will sit one step below the Phone (4a) family, expanding the options offered to consumers seeking a more affordable product on the cost front.

Based on the recent clues scattered online by promotional campaigns, it is evident that the company intends to keep its recognizable aesthetic signature intact. The now-iconic transparent design, which allows users to partially see the internal components, is expected to be confirmed on this model as well.

Complementing this distinctive chassis will almost certainly be the rear LED light strip, extremely similar to the one already implemented on the Nothing (4a).
