Google Photos now lets you edit images by conversing with AI

One of the most interesting features of Google Photos gets a small international boost. The Mountain View company has officially kicked off the release of Edit with Ask Photos for eligible Android users in several new markets, marking the debut of this feature also in Italy, Germany, France, Spain and the United Kingdom.

Already available in countries such as the United States, Australia, India, and Japan, this innovation introduces an extremely intuitive editing tool to an increasingly broad global audience. The feature eliminates the technical complexity of photo editing software, allowing anyone to edit their own photos through simple textual descriptions.

From a practical standpoint, the Google Photos interface is enhanced by a dedicated button within the image editor, simply named Ask. Once selected, the user can interact with artificial intelligence by requesting specific interventions such as removing reflections, restoring old damaged photographs, or eliminating distracting elements in the background.

Instead of having to manually adjust dozens of sliders for contrast, saturation, or selective correction, the system interprets the natural-language command and applies the changes autonomously.

The integration of Edit with Ask Photos was announced for Italy in the past few hours, but it’s reasonable to think that there will be a wait before the rollout reaches all users. In the meantime, note that the feature is available only on Google Photos for Android and at the moment it’s not included in the iOS version (in the United States, however, it is also available for iPhone).
