The Korean tech titan has kicked off the rollout of the new One UI 8.5, the mid-cycle update that debuted first on the latest foldables and is now starting to appear on more models. In the meantime, work on One UI 9.0 is progressing and a glimmer opens for users curious to participate in the beta program: some clues suggest that the announcement is really just around the corner.
Samsung has been testing for some time the latest version of its interface: One UI 9 is based on Android 17 and on various occasions leaked images related to features or aesthetic elements. However it seems that the beta program opening is planned: the company has created the forum pages dedicated to One UI 9 Beta for the Galaxy S26 series.
At the moment it concerns Samsung Community in India, United Kingdom, Poland, Germany, Korea and the United States. Consequently we now know also the countries where the program will be available. Italy is not on the roster, but the positive side is that rumors about the interface will surge by leaps and bounds, offering a clearer picture of what to expect.
Moreover, recently, on the company’s servers appeared firmware based on One UI 9 (S948BXXU2ZZE7) and destined for Galaxy S26 Ultra. This, together with the new forum pages, indicates that the beta release is very close to debut. Perhaps the program could open its doors by the end of the month or at the latest in June — perhaps in conjunction with Google’s stable release of Android 17.
