Samsung announces One UI 9 Beta: starting with the Galaxy S26 series

Just a short time after the opening of the dedicated pages within the official forum, Samsung has launched the beta program for One UI 9, the next version of the brand’s proprietary interface (based on Android 17). As previously anticipated, unfortunately this is an initiative destined to only a limited number of countries – and Italy is not part of them.

The release of One UI 9.0 Beta is available for Galaxy S26 series smartphones and participation can only take place via the Samsung Members app. The beta program is active in the following countries:

  • South Korea
  • United States
  • India
  • Germany
  • Poland
  • United Kingdom

The software version is already available for download in some markets, while for the remaining markets you will have to wait in the coming days. As noted, for now the beta phase covers only the latest models of the flagship series and it is not known whether the program will be extended to other devices.

As for the stable version, Android 17 should appear in June while for the next One UI 9 there will still be some waiting—but not too long. The appointment with Samsung’s interface is expected in July, on the occasion of the launch of the new foldables Z Fold 8 and Z Flip 8 (to which the rumored Z Fold 8 Wide would also be added).

Back to the current beta update, the firmware version S94xBXXU2ZZEF is rolling out in Germany and the United Kingdom for the Galaxy S26, S26+, and S26 Ultra. The update has been spotted with a size of over 3.6 GB, the latest security patches (May 2026) and some new features.

The Quick Panel can now be customized even more deeply, changing the size of the volume, brightness, and music player controls. The improvements also continue on the Samsung DeX side, Samsung’s desktop interface, while the Note app is enriched with new features (such as Tape, which allows covering a portion of the notes’ content) and new pen styles.

The Game Booster panel gets more settings during games, without interrupting the action; the rest of the updates relate to privacy, accessibility features, the readability of texts, and improvements for using a mouse and keyboard.
