Over the past few hours, the Chinese brand announced its new flagship, REDMAGIC 11S Pro (coming to Italy soon) while the launch of the latest-generation gaming tablet will occur at a later time. The release window has been confirmed: here is when REDMAGIC Gaming Tablet 5 Pro will arrive, a device that could debut here under the name Astra 2.
Regarding the name in China, the company has skipped the fourth generation, moving from the previous 3 Pro to the 5 Pro model. The reason is the usual one, at least for enthusiasts of Chinese technology: the number 4 is considered bad luck and, consequently, it is rare for it to be used by manufacturers.
Regarding the Global name, the previous generation arrived in Italy as REDMAGIC Astra: it remains to be seen whether it will be kept or whether the brand will opt for a new nomenclature.
The unveiling of the new gaming tablet is expected in June in China. Usually the time gap between the domestic launch and its Western release is very short, so it’s likely the device will reach us very soon.
The new teaser shows part of the design, but much remains shrouded in mystery: the REDMAGIC logo is glimpsed and a new LED lighting system. The company has confirmed that the tablet will include 10 cutting-edge technologies, although at the moment there are no further details.
We can certainly expect a semi-transparent case, a futuristic touch, and high-end specifications; perhaps the fluorinated liquid cooling used by the brand’s latest smartphones could be implemented, but it’s only a guess. Also below you will find the alleged spec sheet, based on rumors so far.
