HyperOS 3.3 with Android 17 will arrive only for these Xiaomi devices

The Chinese manufacturer has kicked off the release of HyperOS 3.1 and now all attention is on the brand’s next interface version, with an eye toward Android 17. Yet before moving on to the next chapter another update is planned: this is HyperOS 3.3, a build available only for a limited number of Xiaomi smartphones – and for a good reason.

In late April, Xiaomi published the first software based on Android 17 Beta, an experimental update, completely optional and dedicated only to certain flagship models. This is a mandatory step ahead of Google’s Android 17 stable release (expected for June), a testing phase that anticipates the future release of the Xiaomi-branded UI.

In line with what happened with the previous generation, the company has also launched HyperOS 3.3: however, don’t expect new features or aesthetic improvements. The new software version serves as a bridge for HyperOS 4, with the introduction of the latest version of Android.

This will allow the base Android 17 architecture to be integrated more effectively, optimizing everything ahead of major changes to the user interface. As of writing, the HyperOS 3.3 beta is already available for some smartphones:

  • Xiaomi 17 (OS3.0.301.0.WPCMIXM)
  • Xiaomi 17 Ultra (OS3.0.9.0.WPAMISXM)
  • Xiaomi 15T Pro (OS3.0.11.0.WOSMIXM)

As a result, with the release of the stable Android 17 we expect HyperOS to also arrive in a stable version on these devices. However, the other Xiaomi, Redmi and POCO models will not upgrade to 3.3: clearly it is likely that we will have mid-cycle updates, but the version change will occur directly with HyperOS 4.

The new UI is expected to come with a new design, at least according to the first rumors from China. As usual, it’s wise to take all leaks with caution: for the launch, it’s likely that the announcement will take place during the month of August (as happened with the current version).
