Honor 600 Pro eyes Xiaomi 17 Pro Max: Is a rear display coming?

In the coming days the launch event for Honor 600 and 600 Pro in China will take place: although the two smartphones are already available in our markets, we will watch the debut with interest since they will be different devices (at least in part). It seems the brand has chosen to differentiate the aesthetics and some features between the Global version and the version released in its home market.

Among the novelties is also the presence of a rear display in the style of Xiaomi 17 Pro and Pro Max, although it will be an accessory – at least according to what leaked from a photo.

Honor 600 Pro: with an accessory, the Chinese version will have something in common with Xiaomi 17 Pro Max

The shot above was published by an insider and shows the Chinese version of Honor 600 Pro: we already know that the phones will arrive with a look very different from the pair presented in Italy. The wide rectangular island makes way for a capsule-shaped module, with aesthetics clearly inspired by the iPhone Air.

The design had been revealed a few days ago, but the leaker’s photo shows a new accessory: it is a rear display with magnetic attachment, positioned in the center of the back. The panel adopts a circular format, with a thick bezel and a color inner screen.

The Pro model supports wireless charging but it is likely that magnets are not integrated into the chassis: the photo shows the phone is equipped with a case, so it is likely that this case has a built-in magnetic ring.

For now there are no certainties but the gadget should function both as a rear display and as a shutter button for the camera (perhaps for selfies using the main camera) or as a fill light.

What will change with the Chinese models

Apart from support for this supposed accessory (there may be others as well), the Chinese Honor 600 series will present various differences, some of which are particularly appealing.

The design is subjective, so the style shift may not please everyone (as it might be more pleasing than the Global version look). However there will be an extra-large battery and this will surely please everyone: our models mount 6,400 mAh units while in China it will rise to 8,600 mAh for the base and 8,000 mAh for the Pro.

Regarding the Honor 600 Pro, the Chinese device would not have the Snapdragon 8 Elite but the Dimensity 8550 Elite; also there will be exclusive colorways for both devices, tones particularly glossy. The rest of the specs should be unchanged: in our comparison between the two Global phones you can find all the technical details!
