The device in question had begun to permanently show an annoying pink stripe on the display, a visual defect that irreparably compromised its day-to-day use.

Instead of discarding the device, the owner decided to leverage the hardware to create an entertainment hub connected directly to a television.

The Tensor G3 processor located inside the Pixel 8 has high-caliber technical specifications, capable of supporting a fairly smooth and satisfying gaming experience. It is, however, well known that these particular processors tend to generate a significant amount of heat under load, sometimes causing annoying drops in framerate.

To keep temperatures at optimal levels, the author of the modification has successfully integrated a 50 mm PC cooling fan. The entire setup was made possible by using a 4-port USB hub, which serves a dual purpose: in addition to providing the power needed for the small fan, it allows multiple wired controllers to be connected.

In this way, the single device becomes a multiplayer station to engage more players at the same time in the same room.

This software acts as a ROM collector for classic games and provides an extremely clean graphical interface.

The user can easily navigate through the menus using only the joypad, leaving behind for good the limitations of a broken touchscreen.
