One UI 8.5 Stable: Samsung Support Leaks a Date

With the release of the Galaxy S26 series, the Asian company has inaugurated a strategic shift in delivering its major updates. The latest flagship lineup debuted with One UI 8.5 while the higher version will arrive in the summer, shifting the focus to Samsung’s folding-family.

In the meantime all the brand’s other smartphones are awaiting the stable release: the tech giant has kicked off a massive beta campaign, available for various models in at least six countries (no, Italy is not included). But when will the final version be available for everyone? The answer might have come directly from Samsung support, perhaps by mistake.

Right now, a screenshot of a conversation with a Samsung support member is circulating the web. The agent simply answers a user’s question, confirming the debut of One UI 8.5 stable starting from April 30. This date would refer to South Korea, while the global rollout would begin a few days later, precisely from May 4.

Clearly it’s prudent to proceed with caution: usually the support service cannot access internal release calendars. This could have been an error, but for now there are no other leaks and the brand remains silent.

As we highlighted at the opening, Samsung has lately opened the beta program for various smartphones — perhaps a positive sign that could indicate a release not too far away. While waiting to discover whether the May 4 date proves true, here is the dedicated article on the provisional list of smartphones that should receive the update.
