REDMAGIC Gaming Tablet 5 Pro Promises Fireworks: Top Specs and Up to 24 GB of RAM

The Chinese company is teasing enthusiasts by revealing some official details. Yet it’s still early, but more enticing information arrives thanks to the usual leaker Digital Chat Station: REDMAGIC Gaming Tablet 5 Pro will be a gaming solution of all respect, with high-end specs, a super-smooth display and a disproportionately large amount of RAM (despite the memory crisis).

As of this writing, REDMAGIC has limited itself to confirming that its new gaming tablet will continue to offer compact dimensions and an OLED display. The launch is expected between April and May, but for now there is no exact date yet.

According to the latest rumors, the device will feature a 9″ diagonal panel with 2.5K resolution and a higher refresh rate. The new tablet will move from the current 165 Hz to as high as 185 Hz, for an ultra-smooth gaming experience.

We’re again talking about a flagship model and consequently we can only expect the latest Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5. Digital Chat Station reveals the various configurations: it would start from 12/256 GB up to a maximum of 24 GB of RAM with 1 TB of storage. Despite the current period — with the memory crisis weighing on manufacturers — REDMAGIC is said to have chosen not to take the path of restraint.

The tablet is expected to debut in two colors with a semi-transparent chassis (black or silver) and a Golden Saga variant is also planned. Details on the camera department are missing, certainly not one of the aspects to aim for: the current model offers a 13 MP sensor (and 9 MP for selfies), so no reason to expect camera-phone ambitions.

Finally, the battery is expected to gain a small increase, going from 8,200 mAh to 8,300 mAh: nothing earth-shattering and perfectly suited to a compact flagship tablet. The launch of REDMAGIC Gaming Tablet 5 Pro is expected soon in China, but usually the manufacturer brings its tablets to Italy as well. It remains to see the chosen name: it could be REDMAGIC Astra 2, but the final word always rests with the brand.
