The market for vacuum cleaning and floor-washing robots has become much more competitive in recent years, but not all models play in the same league: some focus mainly on suction, others strive to stand out on the washing front. The new Narwal Flow 2 clearly belongs to this second category, while presenting itself as a complete high-end model in every respect.

In short, not the classic robot that “do a bit of everything,” but an ambitious proposal that aims to convince especially those who seek truly top-level washing.

Design, materials and build
The Narwal Flow 2 changes approach even on the design front and, to a careful eye, the difference is quick to spot. Compared to many floor-washing robots that opt for soft and characterless shapes, here Narwal chooses a more defined aesthetic, with a base station sporting a squared, modern look and a visibly more premium appearance. It is a product that does not try too hard to blend into the home context, moreover, as noted, its dimensions are not among the most compact on the market.
From a technical perspective, the robot integrates a very complete sensor set; the navigation system revolves around the NarMind Pro platform, which combines LiDAR, dual RGB cameras and additional sensors to read the environment in three dimensions and better manage obstacles, transitions and routes. This architecture allows the robot not only to map the home with precision, but also to recognize objects left on the floor and adapt movements in real time, a setup that translates into practical behavior as well, because in this way the Flow 2 appears less “mechanical” in its movements and more aware of space, with navigation aimed at being smooth, precise and intelligent, and it succeeds fully.
Even on the construction side there is a real attention to functionality, for example the washing module adopts the FlowWash system with continuous roller mop, a solution different from the more common double rotating pads and structurally more sophisticated, because it requires a much tighter integration between robot and base. The roller is managed as an active part of the cleaning system, with continuous washing, drying and automated maintenance. In addition, there is a structure capable of adapting to different surface types, adjusting the robot’s behavior when passing between ceramic tile floors, carpets and pile.
The self-cleaning station, as mentioned, is one of the most important elements of the whole package, both in size and functions. It is not compact, and this should be clearly stated: it requires a dedicated space and is not the kind of accessory that easily hides under a piece of furniture or behind a door. It handles automatic dust emptying in a 2.5-liter bag, the filling of the clean-water tank, the collection of dirty water, the washing of the roller and its drying, minimizing manual intervention. The tanks are positioned at the top and are convenient to remove and reinsert, a practical choice for everyday use, especially for those who use the robot often.
A particularly interesting detail is the presence of the refillable detergent dispenser, which avoids the constraint of proprietary consumables and makes the system more flexible in the long term, a choice I consider really very smart, because it improves the user experience and gives the user a bit more freedom, especially in purchasing detergents that are certainly cheaper than the expensive products offered by robot manufacturers.

If there is one aspect where the Narwal Flow 2 fully justifies its existence (and its price), it is precisely what happens when it touches the floor. The cleaning is not only “improved,” but I would dare say Narwal has engineeringly rethought it. This places it squarely among the top-tier premium vacuum robots, and if you think such power might be overkill, I assure you that in practice this brute force translates into floors free of any residue from the very first pass. Whether it’s post-dinner crumbs, ultra-fine dust or the usual “tangles” of hair left by pets, Flow 2 pulls everything up without hesitation.
However, while it already achieves high results in cleaning, it is in washing that Narwal has crafted the real masterpiece, abandoning the classic double-rotating-pad system that is now found everywhere. The Flow 2 introduces the FlowWash technology, a continuous roller mop that glides like a small conveyor belt adhering to the floor with a constant pressure of 12 Newton (equivalent to about 1.2 kg of downward force); a solution increasingly common in top-of-the-line models recently, but to be honest Narwal manages to achieve results above average precisely thanks to the construction of its roller, extremely softer and “silky,” in a sense, than the competition.
However, the real magic trick lies in water management: during the entire cleaning cycle, the roller is continuously wetted and rinsed with hot water at 60 °C. This means the robot cleans surfaces using a consistently immaculate cloth, rather than dragging dirt from one room to another; this ensures top-level performance, but above all, a fundamental detail, no streaks, no halos, only a floor that shines as if you had wiped it by hand.
On the software front, the Narwal Flow 2 relies on a complete and well-thought-out app, perhaps one of the best on the market, as already mentioned on other occasions trying the company’s robots. The initial setup is quick, home mapping happens in a short time and, once completed, you can intervene very precisely on rooms, specific areas, routines and cleaning intensity.
The most interesting aspect is that the system does not stop at standard cycle management, but allows you to build a much more personalized cleaning: you can differentiate suction and washing by environments, set custom sequences and schedule automatic interventions with truly flexible logic.
In addition, there is the entire “smart” component of the NarMind Pro package, which makes navigation more dynamic on the user side: the map is updated with detected obstacles, the robot can recognize different objects and, in some cases, display them directly in the interface, making the environment reading more immediate and concrete compared to classic robots with static maps. There is then an advanced component that further raises the perceived level, such as live camera view and remote control features, useful not only to monitor cleaning but also to give the product extra value in daily life.
Autonomy
Also on the autonomy front the Narwal Flow 2 gives the impression of having been designed with a very practical approach; here the battery is generous and, in real use, allows tackling even large homes without anxiety, especially if you alternate suction and washing across several rooms. The most interesting data, however, is not just how long the charge lasts in absolute terms, but how it is managed: the robot intelligently uses the base stopovers not only for roller maintenance or dust emptying, but also to recover energy during operation pauses. I, for example, with about 100 m² of home, managed to complete with a single charge ending with a good 30% remaining autonomy for the suction cycle, while with a full charge you can complete a suction and washing cycle.
This partial “fly” recharge helps reduce dead times and makes the cleaning cycle more continuous, a concrete advantage in large homes where many robots end up pausing too long before finishing the job. Practically, Flow 2 not only aims to have good autonomy on paper, but to optimize the entire system to stay efficient even in longer sessions. The result is a product that can maintain a good work pace and complete cleaning with fewer interruptions than expected, a factor that significantly affects the perceived convenience in daily use.
Price and considerations
Narwal Flow 2 is one of those products that do not seek compromise: it shoots high and does so in a fairly evident way, building its identity around a very clear concept of premium domestic cleaning. Its strength remains the washing quality, supported by an evolved technical system, by a very complete base and by a level of automation that, in daily use, makes a real difference. At the same time, it must be said clearly that it is not a robot designed for everyone: the price places it in a significant bracket, and for many users it represents more of a considered investment than an impulse purchase.
Precisely in this sense, the launch promotions make the package more interesting. Narwal has set the official launch price at 1,299 euros for the Standard version and 1,499 euros for the Compact, figures that confirm the product’s high positioning.
