OnePlus Watch 4 is official with Wear OS and titanium case

A few hours after OPPO’s event (which saw the launch of a slew of novelties both in China and globally), Pete Lau’s company has unveiled OnePlus Watch 4. The wearable had already jumped to the headlines thanks to a series of leaked images, previewing design and features. Now the new Wear OS model is official and it’s impossible not to notice the strong similarities with cousin OPPO Watch X3 (freshly launched in Italy).

Following a strategy that has become established, the two companies again rely on rebranding: OPPO Watch X3 and OnePlus Watch 4 are basically the same device, sharing design and technical specifications. The real distinction lies in the color variants.

Although both models offer the classic black version with a fluorinated rubber strap, they diverge on the second tone: OPPO leans into the elegance of Misty Titanium with a gray/silver strap, while OnePlus debuts with the novel Evergreen Titanium, characterized by a forest green strap.

Moving on to the rest of the specs, the new OnePlus Watch measures 47.4 x 47.4 x 11 mm and weighs 43 grams, with an LTPO OLED display at 466 x 466 pixels and a peak brightness of 3,000 nits. The panel is protected by a vetro zaffiro while the wearable’s case is made entirely of titanium.

Sono presenti sia le classificazioni IP68/IP69 contro polvere e acqua, che la certificazione di grado militare MIL-STD-810H to offer complete 360-degree durability.

Performance is entrusted to the chipset Snapdragon Wear W5, paired with the SoC BES2800: the Dual-Engine architecture allows addressing the main weakness of modern smartwatches, namely battery life.

Snapdragon handles the most complex operations using Google’s Wear OS while the MCU (Microcontroller Unit) chip runs with RTOS and manages all the basic functions of the watch. The dynamic and intelligent switching between the two SoCs enables extended battery life without impacting the device’s smoothness.

Memory-wise there are 2 GB of RAM and 32 GB of storage, while the autonomy is provided by a 646 mAh battery, which promises up to 16 days of use in energy-saving mode and up to 5 days in smart mode.

There are over 100 sports modes on offer and the classic package of health and fitness features. The integrated GPS is included, as is the NFC for payments.

At the moment the company has not yet confirmed the price of the OnePlus Watch 4, limiting itself to unveiling all the details of the wearable through the official Global store. It remains to be seen which countries it will be distributed in, and although regarding Italy it is not to be ruled out that it will also arrive here, despite the launch of the twin OPPO Watch X3.

In fact, last year we saw the release in Italy of both OPPO Watch X2 and OnePlus Watch 3, so it’s clear that the two brands have no major issues bringing the same device to market twice (but under different brands).
