The Motorola event saw the new foldables of the family Rarz 70, but there was also room for a classic addition, aimed at the mid-range. Moto G87 is the brand’s new 5G smartphone, characterized by a super-bright display and a 200 MP camera – a leap forward compared to the rest of the series.
The current moto g77, g67, g17 and g17 power (announced in January) go up to 108 MP, so the newcomer is the perfect choice for those aiming for an improved camera system, without sacrificing the unmistakable style of the range.
The aesthetics of the Moto G87 mirror those of its younger siblings and the predecessor, with a square camera module seamlessly integrated with the chassis, elegant colorations Pantone and a flat display with a central punch-hole for the selfie camera.
In addition to being a refined device, the G87 is also rugged: the Gorilla Glass 7i front glass protects the front panel from drops and scratches, while the chassis is rated IP66/IP68/IP69. To complete the picture we also have MIL-STD-810H military-grade durability.
The display is an Extreme AMOLED 1.5K 6.78-inch unit with a peak brightness of up to 5,000 nits, for excellent visibility even in direct sunlight. The panel features a 120 Hz refresh rate, for smooth scrolling in any situation (gaming, web browsing, switching between apps).
The heart of the Moto G87 is the MediaTek Dimensity 6400 chipset, with up to 12 GB of RAM. The battery life is powered by a 5,200 mAh battery with 30W TurboPower fast charging. The software is based on Android 16, with Hello UX for customization and Google features such as “Gemini Chat” and “Circle and Search“.
On board, we find the best camera system in the Moto G series, featuring a high-resolution main sensor of 200 MP with optical image stabilization, 2x lossless zoom and technology Ultra Pixel, for brighter and more vivid images. There is room for an 8 MP ultra-wide lens, while the front panel houses a 32 MP selfie camera.
The new Moto G87 is already available in Italy through the Motorola store, at the price of €399 (for the 8/256 GB configuration).
