Xiaomi YU7 GT challenges supercars: here are the official details of the track SUV

Lei Jun’s company is about to roll out yet another vehicle (after the second generation of SU7) and now new details emerge about what promises to be one of the most capable in its category. Thanks to the recent publications of the Chinese Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT), the official specifications of Xiaomi YU7 GT, a high-performance SUV that positions itself as the answer to the Dream Car SU7 Ultra have emerged.

Recall that the sporty (and luxurious) version of the latest crossover Xiaomi YU7 had already been spotted some time ago, even during tests at the famous Nürburgring. Now MIIT approval allows us to take a closer look at the vehicle, with numerous details and an overview of the design.

From an aesthetic point of view, Xiaomi YU7 GT adopts a refined SUV-coupé silhouette. The front end is dominated by a full-width LED signature and sharp-looking headlights, while on the roof a LiDAR sensor is perfectly integrated to support advanced autonomous driving features.

To maintain a clean and aerodynamic profile, the vehicle uses flush door handles, flush with the body. The rear echoes the front style with a long light strip spanning the full width, topped by the Xiaomi logo, and a bumper that integrates a racing-inspired diffuser.

Performance is guaranteed by a dual-motor all-wheel-drive system with two electric motors. The front motor produces 288 kW, while the rear delivers 450 kW, bringing total system power to 738 kW, equivalent to about 990 horsepower.

This thrust allows the YU7 GT to reach a stated top speed of 300 km/h. Despite its sporty character, the dimensions remain generous, with a length of over 5 meters, a width of about 2 meters, and a wheelbase of 3 meters — with a curb weight of around 2,460 kg.

Range and energy management are entrusted to a massive 101.7 kWh battery pack, which alone weighs about 666 kg. According to Chinese CLTC homologation cycles, the vehicle can travel between 650 and 705 kilometers on a single charge, though real-world data may be lower depending on driving style and environmental conditions.

Xiaomi’s focus on customization is equally high, offering future customers a wide range of options. The result is a vehicle that adapts to users’ tastes and balances the elegance and usability of a family car with the aggressiveness of a track vehicle (as suggested by tests conducted at the Nürburgring circuit).
