Xiaomi Book Pro 14 announced: a major return to the laptop market after 3 years of silence

Three years have passed since Xiaomi released its last laptop, a long period interspersed with various Redmi-branded models (so it’s not total radio silence). However this seems to be the right moment for a comeback, despite the problems facing the tech world — the memory crisis. Xiaomi’s Lei Jun’s company announced the new Xiaomi Book Pro 14, coming soon to its home market: here are the first details, with plenty of images.

The previous Xiaomi Book 14 debuted in 2023 with a slim chassis and a 14″ 2.8K at 120 Hz display: an ultrabook with Intel Core processors, suitable for almost all needs (except gaming).

The successor won’t disappoint: Xiaomi Book Pro 14 is coming with a unibody magnesium alloy chassis with a lower shell in high-strength carbon fiber, for a total weight of only 1.08 kg. All this in combination with a third-generation Intel Core Ultra X7 358H processor. Below you will find the confirmed specs:

  • light chassis weighing 1.08 kg
  • thickness of around 14.95 mm
  • color options Soft Mist Blue, Classic White, Elegant Gray
  • display with 3.1K resolution
  • 3rd generation Intel Core Ultra X7 358H processor
  • Intel Radiant B390 graphics
  • VC cooling of 10,000 mm2 and dual fans

Note the new cooling system featuring integrated fans and a large liquid surface with a vapor chamber. According to rumors we will see a 14″ display (as the name suggests) while there will also be a smaller version with Intel Core Ultra 5 325.

In terms of memory, rumors point to substantial configurations despite the size, with variants of 24 GB and 32 GB RAM and 1 TB of SSD storage. The launch in China is set for the coming weeks: Xiaomi has not yet confirmed an exact date, but it’s clear the debut isn’t far off.

As usual when it comes to the brand’s laptops, we refer to the Chinese market. At the time of writing there are no indications that it will also arrive in Europe — but hope springs eternal.
