In the past few hours Xiaomi has announced several new developments for the Chinese market, including notebooks, wearables and a new generation of electric cars. A versatile brand, open to a multitude of products but in the end we always return to smartphones: for Western users the next milestone will be Xiaomi 17T Pro, the mid-generation flagship.
The device is expected to debut as a rebrand of its Chinese cousin Redmi K90 Ultra, but unlike the latter it will lack a feature borrowed from Gaming Phones.
More and more brands are pushing toward gaming smartphones with an integrated fan: even though the mobile gaming sector has seen a decline (except for iconic brands like REDMAGIC), some Chinese companies are re-evaluating certain aspects.
The integrated cooling fan, often combined with a liquid cooling system with a vapor chamber. The goal is to have a smartphone always cool, even under heavy loads – especially games, increasingly complex to manage.
Honor, OPPO, iQOO and more: all have introduced devices with small fans, though limited to certain markets (such as China and India). The next addition will be Redmi K90 Ultra, at least according to leaks so far: the next flagship from Xiaomi’s offshoot should be the first with an integrated fan.
The launch is set for April in its homeland, but it also concerns us: the smartphone is expected globally as Xiaomi 17T Pro – presumably in May.
However those hoping for an international Gaming Phone will be disappointed: according to the latest leaks, our 17T Pro will not have the fan – which will remain exclusive to the Chinese cousin. Clearly we expect the classic liquid cooling system with a large vapor chamber.
While waiting to learn more, perhaps officially, we note the latest news on the standard version: this time it seems that even the smaller brother will have wireless charging support!
