Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra vs iPhone, Google, Xiaomi, and OnePlus: who is the king of battery life?

The world of mobile technology has made giant strides when it comes to batteries and endurance, aided by the arrival of silicon-carbon technology. This enables high-density cells to be used without impacting size — and thus with slim smartphones yet capable of reaching up to 10,000 mAh.

The TechDroider channel has produced an interesting battery-life comparison video that laid bare the real performance of this generation’s flagships.

The competition featured Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra, iPhone 17 Pro Max, Xiaomi 17 Pro Max, OnePlus 15 and Google Pixel 10 Pro XL: the final results held quite a few surprises!

Battery Test definitivo: Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra sfida Xiaomi 17 Pro Max, iPhone 17 Pro Max, OnePlus 15 e Google Pixel 10 Pro XL

The test began with intensive gaming sessions and high-definition video playback, putting the devices under pressure right away. While Chinese giants like Xiaomi and OnePlus started to show their muscles thanks to their units over 7,000 mAh, other devices struggled to keep up.

Google Pixel 10 Pro XL was the first to give in, shutting down after just 8 hours and 22 minutes, a result deemed disappointing for a flagship in its class. Shortly after it was the turn of Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra, included in the test despite being a model from the previous generation: the device ended its run at 8 hours and 40 minutes, still showing a decent endurance.

The real low point of the test was the brand-new Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra: despite the Qualcomm 8 Elite Gen 5 for Galaxy chip and the brand’s typical optimizations, the device gave up after 9 hours and 8 minutes.

A particularly disappointing placement, as this is the latest flagship that still uses a 5,000 mAh battery, which no longer seems enough to compete at the highest levels. iPhone 17 Pro Max posted a solid performance reaching 9 hours and 41 minutes, confirming Apple’s excellent software optimization even though it couldn’t climb to the very top podium.

In the final stages of the challenge, Xiaomi 17 Pro Max surpassed the ten-hour mark, stopping at 10 hours and 3 minutes. While this is a commendable result, one would have expected more considering the device packs a generous battery of over 7,000 mAh.

The winner of the test, however, was OnePlus 15, with a record time of 12 hours and 31 minutes.
