The economical YouTube plan becomes much more affordable thanks to two very useful features: Premium Lite adds video downloads and background playback. And no, you can sleep easy: there don’t appear to be any price increases planned for the monthly subscription.
The YouTube Premium Lite is Google’s platform’s economical subscription and allows you to watch most videos (including Kids) ad-free — at a price of €7.99 per month, compared to €13.99 for the Individual plan.
This subscription is designed for users who use YouTube heavily and want to do away with advertising interruptions (which can be quite numerous and annoying).
Now YouTube Premium Lite becomes more affordable even though for now the new features are not yet available in Italy. The economical plan now also includes the background playback and the downloads, two services particularly useful and in high demand by users (both already included in the Individual plan).
As of writing, the features do not yet appear to be active in our region, so it is likely that we will have to wait for a gradual rollout.
