The famous messaging app is preparing to introduce a new feature, once again a novelty borrowed from its rival Telegram. The messages scheduled are coming to WhatsApp: this is revealed by the latest beta version of the software, which allows us to get a first look at how this addition works for both one-on-one and group chats.
As noted above, the novelty arrives from the version beta 26.7.10.72 of WhatsApp for iOS: the feature is in development and at the moment not active. The WABetainfo team has managed – as usual – to access hidden information thanks to software analysis, obtaining also a first image.
The scheduled messages allow you to plan sending one or more messages, both in chats and in groups. Just type the text and then choose the date and time of sending, and that’s it. Nothing complicated, but a system very similar to what has already been seen on Telegram.
Moreover, once scheduled, the messages can be viewed within the dedicated section – present in the chat information screen, as also shown by the image you see in the article.
Unfortunately the new feature is still in the testing phase, so we will have to wait a bit longer for the official release. The WhatsApp team is also working on other hidden novelties, such as the spoiler button to hide messages and the introduction of a personal password. In the meantime progress is also being made in the stable version: just in recent days the release of the group messages chronology was announced.
