Samsung Can’t Wait Any Longer: These New Official Videos Preview the Galaxy S26

Only a few weeks remain until the official announcement of the Galaxy S26 family, with a launch date rumored around the February 25, and Samsung’s marketing machine has certainly stepped up the pace.

Until a few days ago, the attention of the South Korean giant had been focused on security, introducing the Privacy Display feature designed to protect data from prying eyes, now the focus has decisively shifted to what has always been one of the strengths of the S Series: the camera hardware.

Through a series of short video teasers published on its own social channels, the company has offered a first concrete glimpse (albeit controlled) of the capabilities of the new devices, implicitly confirming some design choices that had leaked previously.

The throughline of the new promotional films is undoubtedly the sensors’ ability to operate in challenging lighting conditions, two of the three released videos emphasize nighttime video recording.

In one scenario we see a DJ performing in a poorly lit environment, accompanied by the promise that the new smartphones will be able to “light up the night“. The other second video shows a woman having fun with some stars, highlighting the contrast between the dark environment and the brightness of the footage.

These capabilities seem to derive from precise hardware updates. Rumors suggest that the Galaxy S26 Ultra will benefit from a wider aperture for the main camera, enabling the sensor to capture a greater amount of light and visual information.

This would also explain the return, visible in the teasers, of a more pronounced rear camera island, necessary to house optics of such caliber.

Moreover, the introduction of support for the Advanced Professional Video (APV) format promises to offer content creators files that are lighter yet extremely flexible in post-production.

Lo zoom e il ruolo dell’intelligenza artificiale

The third video focuses on the zoom capabilities, showing a remarkable magnification on a dog, well beyond the standard thresholds of 5x or 10x.

Although the clip aims to demonstrate the sharpness of long-distance details, a small note reveals that the background of the image was generated by artificial intelligence. This indication suggests that there could be a hybrid approach between optics and computational software, although probably the note relates only to the spot and not to the phone’s current function.

Under the hood, the differences expected between the models will be pronounced but coherent. The Ultra model should boast a main sensor of 200 MP accompanied by two telephoto lenses, one from 10 MP with 3x zoom and one from 50 MP with 5x optical zoom.

The base and Plus models, however, would rely on a more conservative configuration with a main from 50 MP and a telephoto from 10 MP. However, the power of the new processors will be fundamental to bridge the hardware gap, especially to push digital zoom on the more affordable models.

The entire line seems ready to support 4K recording at 60fps on all lenses, with the Ultra potentially pushing up to 8K at 30fps not only on the main lens but also on the wide-angle and the 5x telephoto. Between technical confirmations and new software features like the fraud detection and Linux Terminal support, Samsung appears ready to play its best cards in 2026.

Below are the three teasers published by the brand:
