The missing addition of Galaxy S26 Pro and S26 Edge
Early leaks spoke of adding a Pro version as the base model: no plain S26, but directly a variant called S26 Pro to raise the bar for the lineup and make it even more premium. The idea sank in favor of the usual nomenclature.
S26 Edge – Credits: Onleaks x Androidheadlines
There were even rumors of a historic shift: the ultra-thin Samsung Galaxy S26 Edge would take the place of the Galaxy S26+, with a design that nods to Cupertino (as seen in some leaked images). The camera module – wide and rectangular – seems inspired by the new look of the iPhone 17 Pro and Pro Max, certainly a controversial choice if confirmed.
The plan did not pan out: Galaxy S25 Edge sales did not impress, and thus the launch of its successor should be scheduled for a later time, more likely in 2026.
How much do Samsung Galaxy S26, S26+ and S26 Ultra cost – Price and release in Italy
The new smartphones in the Samsung Galaxy S26 series were announced during the Unpacked event on February 25, held in San Francisco (a return for flagships since the city hosted the debut of the Galaxy S23 lineup). Speaking of price, there are some increases due to the memory crisis: below are the list prices at launch.

Speaking of price, there are some increases due to the memory crisis: below are the list prices at launch.
As with every generation, it also arrives with a launch promo that doubles the storage space for a limited time:
S26 Ultra 1 TB at the price of €1,799.00
S26 Ultra 512 GB at the price of S26 Ultra 256 GB
S26+ 512 GB at the price of S26+ 256 GB

Battery
Moving on to batteries, the new series makes progress but don’t expect miracles in capacity. Galaxy S26 offers 4,300 mAh, compared to 4,000 mAh of the base S25; the Plus version again has a 4,900 mAh unit. The flagship S26 Ultra continues the tradition since 2020 (with S20 Ultra), i.e. it houses a 5,000 mAh unit.
However the real innovations lie on the charging front: all models have magnetic wireless charging. This is the Qi2 Ready wireless charging technology, but it is not MagSafe-like: the new Samsung devices do not have magnets embedded under the chassis, as is the case with iPhones (since the 12 series).
For charging, the Galaxy S26 is the least capable with 25W wired charging and 15W wireless; the S26+ steps up to 45W wired but still remains at 15W wireless. All improvements are concentrated on the S26 Ultra with 60Wwired and 25Wwireless.
Camera
Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra
The photographic hardware doesn’t offer new hardware innovations, with the same sensors as the previous generation. The Galaxy S26 would feature a triple camera of 50 + 12 + 10 MP with ultra-wide and telephoto, the same package also offered by the larger Galaxy S26+.
Finally the Camera Phone of the series: the Galaxy S26 Ultra mounts a Quad Camera as usual, a 200 + 50 + 50 + 10 MP solution with an ultra-wide and two telephoto lenses, the main one with periscope zoom (5X) and a standard secondary (3X). Same sensors, but the system has been improved by introducing wider apertures.
There were rumors of the return of the variable aperture, a feature missing since the Galaxy S9, but in the end the rumors did not materialize. Finally, all three smartphones use a 12 MP selfie camera.
Software
The entire lineup marks the debut of the new One UI 8.5, built on Android 16. The news mainly concern artificial intelligence, with various improvements for Galaxy AI and the presence of multiple agents such as the new Bixby (updated for more natural conversations), Gemini and Perplexity.
Clearly the optimizations also cover photography, while in terms of updates the new policy provides 7 years of Android and security updates.

S26 512 GB at the price of S26 256 GB
Finally, until March 15 you can redeem the code FLASHVIP to get €50 off the Ultra model (through the official store).
Exynos2600: 2 nm Samsung
CPU: deca-core
1 x 3,8 GHz – ARM C1-Ultra
3 x 3,25 GHz – ARM C1-Pro
6 x 2,75 GHz – ARM C1-Pro
GPU: Xclipse 960

Early leaks spoke of adding a Pro version as the base model: no plain S26, but directly a variant called S26 Pro to raise the bar for the lineup and make it even more premium. The idea sank in favor of the usual nomenclature.

S26 512 GB at the price of S26 256 GB
Finally, until March 15 you can redeem the code FLASHVIP to get €50 off the Ultra model (through the official store).

Last update: February 26 – In this in-depth article we have gathered for you all the latest news on design, technical specifications, price and release of the Samsung Galaxy S26 family. Initially there were reports of a change in direction, with the supposed S26 Pro model and the addition of the ultra-thin flagship S26 Edge in place of the usual Plus.
However the tech giant would have backtracked – behind the scenes, we’re talking about rumor mill chatter – in favor of a classic lineup. So this time as well we have the usual base Samsung Galaxy S26, S26+ and the flagship S26 Ultra.
Samsung Galaxy S26, S26+ and S26 Ultra: everything you need to know about the new high-end models
Design and display
The design of the S26 series changes slightly from that of the Galaxy S25 family, with no drastic changes. The camera integrated into the chassis, not flush but without a housing module to contain it, presents a look more in line with the Galaxy S25 Edge and Z Fold 7.
Samsung Galaxy S26
There is a punch-hole module to house the camera sensors, with the LED flash beside it. However there are small differences depending on the model. Samsung Galaxy S26, the base model, features a triple camera while in the case of S26 Ultra there is also a fourth rear sensor – in the classic lineup.
Regarding displays, all are Dynamic AMOLED 2X, with several sizes: starting from 6.3″ diagonal on the base model up to a maximum of 6.9″ for the Ultra, with 6.7″ for the Plus edition.
Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra
Regarding the flagship model, this time Samsung has implemented its Flex Magic Pixel: a display with integrated privacy mode that makes the panel unreadable to those on the sides – but it can be customized.
All sport IP68 waterproof/build; finally the S26 Ultra retains the digitizer and hence the support for the S Pen, unlike the foldable Z Fold 7 (which has lost it completely). Below you will find the dimensions and weight of the entire series: while the S26 and S26+ remain unchanged, the larger Ultra shows some minor improvements.
