OPPO Find X10: the real ‘magnetic charging without a case’ that challenges Apple

In early February the latest news about the Galaxy S26 series arrived, and we came to terms with it: the range will have support for Qi2 charging, but no magnets embedded in the chassis. This solution so far seems exclusive to iPhones and Android manufacturers have been groping in the dark for generations (except for a few timid experiments).

However there is a new rumor: OPPO Find X10 could break this tradition and finally introduce the real magnetic charging, in MagSafe-style.

OPPO Find X10 could succeed where the Galaxy S26 series failed

The wireless charging technology Qi2 allows for higher power than the previous standard (from 15W to 25W) and enables the use of a magnet system for precise alignment. At the moment the major Android manufacturers support the new standard but the various flagship models are predisposed to only Qi2 magnetic accessories.

In simple terms, wireless charging can be leveraged via dedicated covers with a magnetic ring but there are no magnets under the chassis.

This is a fundamental difference with Apple’s MagSafe: the compatible iPhones have magnets all around the charging coil and consequently allow the use of magnetic accessories without the need for a dedicated case.

The entire Samsung Galaxy S26 series will have Qi2 support but no magnets: the fault could be the S Pen, whose use would be disturbed by the built-in docking system.

For this novelty we should wait until the second half of the year, with OPPO Find X10 and X10 Pro: the next flagship generation should have a chassis with magnets, to fully exploit the Qi2 technology – without having to go through dedicated covers. Unfortunately the rumors say nothing else, so to learn more we will have to wait longer.

Cosa sappiamo dei nuovi flagship di OPPO

The Find X10 lineup is expected to debut in September/October, with the future Dimensity 9600 from MediaTek on board. For now there are few details, but all very interesting: the series should move to a generously sized 8,500 mAh battery, with 100W charging, at least for the Pro version.

Don’t worry because the base variant should receive a 200 MP periscope telephoto, so one way or another it won’t be left high and dry. There are rumors of adding a Pro Max model, but for now nothing has leaked.
