Forty years after the historic installation of Christo and Jeanne-Claude, the oldest bridge in the French capital is preparing to welcome a new monumental work of art.
From June 6 to 28, 2026, citizens and international visitors will be able to admire “The Caverne du Pont Neuf“, a temporary creation imagined by the artist JR. The project is conceived as a direct homage to “The Pont Neuf Wrapped“, the iconic intervention completed in 1985.
Beyond the visual majesty, the initiative stands out for a strong interactive component, made possible by the collaboration with Snap Inc., which positions itself as a crucial creative and technological partner.
The external structure of the installation is designed to intrigue the public with its colossal proportions and its distinctive aesthetics.
It will be a vast double-walled inflatable system, extended for 120 meters in length, covered with printed fabrics that will create a striking trompe-l’oeil effect with rocky-looking surfaces.
The real transformation, however, will occur when crossing the threshold of this unprecedented space. The interior of the bridge will become a deeply immersive journey, designed in close collaboration with Snap’s Paris AR Studio.
