Xiaomi 17 Max will bet everything on the battery, leaked capacity

The prolific Xiaomi 17 series seems destined to welcome soon a new and important member. According to the latest information leaked by authoritative sources in China, the tech giant is reportedly preparing the launch of the Xiaomi 17 Max.

This device would not only complete the current lineup, but would position itself on the market with a very clear distinguishing feature: battery life.

Rumors, spread by the well-known leaker Digital Chat Station, indicate that the next smartphone will be equipped with the most capacious battery ever seen on a device in the 17 series, aiming to satisfy that user segment that considers battery life the ultimate critical factor.

The battery capacity would stand at an impressive value of 8,000 mAh. If this spec were confirmed, the Xiaomi 17 Max would far surpass all of its brothers currently on the market.

To put the size of this component into context, note that the base Xiaomi 17 model houses a 7,000 mAh battery, while the Pro and Pro Max variants stop at respectively 6,300 mAh and 7,500 mAh. Even the recent flagship model, the Xiaomi 17 Ultra launched last Christmas, is limited to 6,800 mAh.

Beyond capacity alone, the device will not compromise on charging speed. Sources say the Xiaomi 17 Max will support a 100W wired charging and a 50W wireless charging. This configuration aligns the device with other models in the series, even surpassing the wired charging speed of the Ultra model, which tops at 90W.

Hardware power and refined design

Under the hood, the Xiaomi 17 Max is not expected to hold negative surprises, maintaining the performance continuity of the lineup. The device will be powered by the same processor that drives the entire 17 series, namely the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5.

This detail suggests that, once on the market, the difference between the five models will not lie in raw computing power, but in specific features such as displays and cameras.

Speaking of displays, the new Max is expected to mount a 6.9-inch AMOLED panel, dimensions similar to those of the Pro Max and Ultra variants, thus offering a large viewing surface.

The front design is expected to be extremely refined, characterized by ultra-thin and symmetric bezels on all four sides, a detail that would confer a decidedly premium and modern look to the device.

As of now, there is no official launch date nor confirmation of global availability, since the 17 series is currently limited to the Chinese market. However, the intensification of rumors suggests that Xiaomi could break the silence very soon.
