Done and dusted: after the announcements in the past weeks, here is OnePlus with its gaming smartphone. However forget models with aggressive looks and LED lights: OnePlus Turbo 6 and 6V focus entirely on performance and a smooth display, without neglecting battery life – thanks to a colossal 9,000 mAh unit.
The line between traditional smartphones and Battery Phone is already broken in China, with devices powerful in every respect (even battery life, often the most fragile).
The design of OnePlus Turbo 6 and 6V mirrors that of the recent OnePlus 15 and 15R, with a squared camera module — albeit with small aesthetic differences. Both Turbo series phones are equipped with OLED displays of 6.78″ diagonal and 1.5K resolution, with PWM and DC Dimming. The refresh rate varies up to 165 Hz for Turbo 6 and up to 144 Hz for the 6V version.
Both are available in Light Chaser Silver, Solo Black and Wild Green colors, while the chassis is IP69K rated — the maximum level of dust and water resistance.
As anticipated at the opening, we have a silicon-carbon battery of 9,000 mAh, with support for 80W wired charging only. All the device power can also be used as a power bank, thanks to the presence of 27W reverse charging.
The camera setup is basic, with a 50 MP sensor and a 2 MP monochrome lens; on the front, a 16 MP selfie camera.
The difference between the two smartphones lies entirely in the chipset: OnePlus Turbo 6 relies on the Snapdragon 8s Gen 4, an 4 nm octa-core solution with a maximum frequency of 3.2 GHz (Cortex-X4). The highlight is the Adreno 825 GPU, which inherits ray tracing support from the higher version. Additionally, the device integrates Windspeed Gaming Kernel technology, which reduces consumption by 8% and the workload during gaming.
The cooling is handled by the Glacier system of the flagship OnePlus 15 — called 360 Cryo-Velocity Cooling in the West: its internal structure has been redesigned to optimize the system’s liquid capabilities with a vapor chamber. WiFi has been boosted by the G1 chip and the same goes for the touch, with the Lingxi internal chip.
OnePlus Turbo 6V runs the Snapdragon 7s Gen 4, built on 4 nm and capable of a maximum frequency of 2.7 GHz (Cortex-A720). The phone starts at around €232 at the current exchange rate, i.e. 1,899 yuan; for the bigger brother Turbo 6 the price starts at around €281 at the rate, 2,299 yuan. According to some leaks, the Turbo series should reach Global markets, and perhaps this leak is related to the various certifications received by OnePlus Nord 6 recently.
