The gaming phone trend continues with a new update from Pete Lau’s house. There’s still no name confirmation, but the direction points toward OnePlus Ace 6 Ultra: the next flagship will appeal to mobile gaming with top-class specs, a smooth display, and a cooling system with a fan, to challenge REDMAGIC and the new Honor Win.
In the past hours we discussed a supposed Redmi Gaming Phone: indeed the rumors have changed and now it seems that in reality the mysterious device belongs to OnePlus. The commercial name has not yet been unveiled, but it is very likely that we will be dealing with OnePlus Ace 6 Ultra.
Additionally, the whole thing is enriched with details: the phone would be powered by MediaTek’s Dimensity 9500 and would feature a flat 6.78″ diagonal display with a resolution of 1.5K and a refresh rate of 165 Hz. It would not miss an ultrasonic in-display fingerprint reader (under the display) and a super battery of 9,000 mAh—perhaps even more.
The OnePlus phone would have something in common with REDMAGIC 11 Pro and Honor Win, namely an integrated cooling fan and an IP68-rated chassis despite this peculiarity.
Despite the identity change of the smartphone (no longer Redmi but OnePlus) the previous considerations remain valid. Chinese manufacturers are aiming at a new type of Gaming Phone, more accessible to the general public through a less aggressive design – but without sacrificing top specs and special features.
