The Galaxy S27 processor has already appeared on Geekbench

While the public’s attention remains focused on the anticipation of the Galaxy S26, which has not yet been officially announced, it seems that Samsung is already actively working on the next generation.

A mysterious Exynos chipset, not yet unveiled, has appeared online, revealing details that point directly toward the future Galaxy S27 family.

Samsung Exynos 2700, is this the new chip appeared on Geekbench?

The leak stems from the Geekbench database, a well-known benchmarking platform, where a device equipped with a chip identified by model code S5E9975 appeared.

Analyzing the historic nomenclature used by the South Korean giant for its semiconductors, it is highly likely that this component is destined to become the Exynos 2700. The emerging specs reveal a CPU configured on ten cores, a choice that seems to follow what has been seen for the Exynos 2600.

Going into the detail of the operating frequencies reported, a peculiar picture emerges, typical of early development phases. The configuration shows a primary core clocked at 2.78 GHz, flanked by a quartet of cores operating at a higher frequency of 2.88 GHz, another group of four cores at 2.4 GHz and finally a single core at 2.3 GHz.

To support the CPU we find the GPU Xclipse 970, all mounted on a platform running Android 16 and featuring 12 GB of RAM.

Underwhelming performance and doubts about the scores

Despite the on-paper specs seeming promising, the numerical results obtained in the OpenCL test of Geekbench 6 have raised some questions.

The device scored 15,618 points, a value that appears surprisingly low when compared to the performance of the Exynos 2600, which has already surpassed the 25,000-point threshold in the same benchmark.

This discrepancy suggests several hypotheses. The most plausible is that this is an extremely preliminary engineering unit, where software optimization and graphics drivers are still in an embryonic state, preventing the hardware from expressing its real potential.

One cannot entirely rule out the possibility that the entry in the database is the result of data forgery, a practice not new in this environment.

The future is at 2 nanometers

Beyond the raw numbers, the leaked information opens a window into the manufacturing technologies Samsung intends to adopt for the future.

According to several reports, the Exynos 2700 should be the flagship of Samsung Foundry production, built with the second-generation 2-nanometer process, known as SF2P. This lithographic evolution promises a leap forward in terms of energy efficiency and transistor density.

Another key aspect concerns temperature management. It seems the company is considering a new implementation of Heat Path Block (HPB), a technology designed to drastically improve cooling of both the processor and the DRAM memory.

Although it is prudent to take these reports with due caution while awaiting official confirmations, it is evident that Samsung is laying the groundwork for a very ambitious future.
