The Return of the Atypical Foldable: Huawei Pura X2 Bets on a Giant Display

One of the most unusual smartphones on the market is set to return during 2026: we are talking about Huawei Pura X2, a foldable device that would inherit the first chapter’s unconventional look. Huawei Pura X2: the successor of the market’s most unusual flip phone is coming and will have a huge screen

While all attention is focused on Samsung’s Wide foldable, in reality this category has already had its first outing with Huawei Pura X: the Chinese company’s flip phone was announced last March with a 16:10 aspect ratio. The result is a hybrid between a traditional foldable and a clamshell, but things will become even more interesting with its successor.

According to an insider, Huawei Pura X2 would feature an even larger internal display: 7.5″ diagonal, compared to 6.3″ of the current model. The external design should not change, and there would once again be a vertical camera paired with a large rear display.

Compared to Pura X’s triple-camera setup, there would be a Quad Camera; moreover at least three variants are planned, each with a different SoC (Kirin 9020, 9030 and 9030 Pro). Probably we’ll be dealing with a series but leaks raise the bar, citing also a top variant with 20 GB of RAM and 1 TB of storage.

The device is expected to come in blue, black, green, orange, purple and white colors, while the launch is planned in the same period as the predecessor, therefore toward March.
