Samsung has officially unveiled Galaxy A18 4G, and the most unexpected novelty isn’t the design or the camera hardware, but the heart of the device: instead of the MediaTek Helio G99 already seen on the A15, A16 and A17 models, this time the company has chosen its own chipset, the Exynos 1610. Let’s discover all the novelties of the budget model of the new generation of the A series.
Samsung Galaxy A18 4G: Exynos chip, specifications and price

The choice of Exynos 1610 represents a clear departure from Samsung’s strategy on the latest entry-level models in the series, all based on MediaTek chipsets.
Beyond the supplier change, the technical details of the new processor look at the previous Exynos 1280 and 1330: essentially it’s the same chipset, but with a few tweaks.
On the display front, Galaxy A18 4G features a 6.7″ Super AMOLED panel with teardrop notch and a refresh rate of 90 Hz. The 5,000 mAh battery supports 25W fast charging, which according to Samsung allows reaching 50% charge in about 30 minutes.
On the rear are a main sensor of 50 MP, a 5 MP ultra-wide and a 2 MP macro lens, while the front camera is 13 MP. The device is IP64 certified against dust and water splashes.
Memory, software and Galaxy AI features

Galaxy AI features are also available, along with Circle and Search and the integration with Gemini.

Price and availability in Europe
Samsung Galaxy A18 4G debuts in France at a price of €279 (128 GB), in Black, Gray and Light Blue. At the moment the device has surfaced in several European markets, but Italy is missing from the lineup; we will update you with all the details as soon as we know more about its debut in our latitudes.
Anyway, apart from the new Exynos SoC we are dealing with the same design and the same specifications as Galaxy A17: the only big difference is the higher price, as expected due to the memory crisis (now a constant in the tech sector).
