What will the Samsung Galaxy S26 FE cameras be like? The first confirmations arrive

The Samsung Galaxy S26 FE is preparing to close the year of launches for the South Korean giant in 2026, and information about its features is starting to take shape more clearly.

The most recent rumors, together with new confirmations from reliable sources, allow us to outline a precise picture of the camera system that will characterize this highly anticipated device.

Besides the rumors about a 45 W fast charging, an Exynos processor and a redesigned design for the rear module, the focus now centers on the sensors that will give life to the images captured by the smartphone.

Internally known by the codename “r14“, in perfect logical sequence with the previous models of the Fan Edition series, the device seems to rely on a proven formula for its main camera.

The gathered information indicates the use of a Samsung ISOCELL S5KGN3 sensor of 50 MP, the same component used on the Galaxy S25 FE. This unit is characterized by a 1/1.57-inch format, 1 b5m pixels, an aperture of f/1.8 and a focal length of 24 mm.

To ensure stability and fast focusing, the system will include dual-pixel PDAF and OIS, thereby reiterating the predecessor’s photographic reliability.

Also in the close-up shooting department, the company has opted to maintain specifications already successfully tested. The task of handling the zoom will be entrusted to the OmniVision OV08A1 sensor of 8 MP. This camera, featuring an f/2.4 aperture and an 8x optical zoom, will ensure high-quality distant captures thanks to 1 b5m pixels and support of PDAF autofocus, always accompanied by optical stabilization.

The mystery between the wide-angle and the front camera

Greater uncertainty surrounds the arrangement of the remaining two sensors, both at 12 MP: a GC12A2 from GalaxyCore and a Sony IMX825. Although the components’ identities are known, it remains to be clarified which of the two will serve as the ultrawide lens and which will be dedicated to selfies.

An analysis of previous devices provides some interesting clues. The GC12A2 has already found space as the front camera on models like the Galaxy A37, while the Sony IMX825 has been used in several roles, both as an ultrawide lens and as the selfie lens on specific variants of the Galaxy Z Flip 7.

If the development strategy were to mirror that seen on the Galaxy S25 FE, it is likely that the Sony unit will be placed on the device’s front side, leaving the GalaxyCore sensor to function as the wide-angle lens.

These valuable technical details join the recent previews regarding the possible prices and the color options available at launch, confirming that work on the next member of the line is progressing quickly and starting to show its final form.
