Xiaomi 18 Pro Max Global-certified: are there hopes for Italy?

There have been rumors for days about the debut of the Xiaomi 18 Pro in the Global version, amid certifications and hints directly from HyperOS: for the first time the Chinese company could introduce a higher-end variant that isn’t the Camera Phone Ultra.

Additionally, there is the presence of a rear display, a feature introduced with the previous 17 Pro and Pro Max and that will return with the new generation.

And now comes some more certainties for Xiaomi 18 Pro Max, the true flagship of the family, spotted for the first time in the Global variant: now all that’s left is to keep our fingers crossed and hope for its debut in our latitudes!

The flagship has been certified by the EEC (Eurasian Economic Commission) and at the moment concerns versions destined for the Eastern European markets. The document does not report the commercial name of the product, indicated with the codename 2609BPN61G.

The same body has also approved the model 2611FPNFAG, still under the Xiaomi brand. It should be the upcoming Xiaomi 18 Pro Max and the standard Xiaomi 18, in both cases in Global version.

A first for Xiaomi

In recent days it has been the Pro model’s turn, while some strings of the Pro model, while some strings from the HyperOS code refer to features related to a rear display.

For the first time, Lei Jun’s company will launch its flagship Pro and the Pro Max variant also in international markets. Furthermore, we won’t deal with regional editions but will share the same characteristics as their Chinese counterparts, namely the large rear display (inside the camera island).

The reason could be tied to memory shortages: rising component prices have pushed brands toward price increases, but it’s likely not enough.

The development of the Xiaomi 18 Ultra seems to be on hold: probably the future 18 Pro Max will be the Camera Phone of this generation, absorbing the photographic capabilities of the Ultra lineup.

What will happen in Europe and Italy?

Global certifications indicate that the entire line will exit China, but the question remains about its debut in Europe. It’s best not to assume that all three smartphones will arrive, though for now these are only hypotheses.

In Italy, Xiaomi usually announces a pair of flagships and the tradition could continue. The base Xiaomi 18 would be the compact flagship with a classic design while the 18 Pro Max could represent the exclusive variant, the one with stellar cameras and a different aesthetic (thanks to the rear display).

As already noted, at the moment we only have hypotheses: to confirm, we will necessarily have to wait for official details from the brand (and it’s likely that it will take some time yet).
