A video leaked online has prematurely revealed the features of Phoenix, the highly anticipated virtual reality (VR) headset from Meta, characterized by an unusually compact design and an external computing unit.
The images, extracted directly from the official firmware, indicate that the device, focused mainly on comfort and productivity, could be officially unveiled during the Meta Connect event scheduled for September 23-24, 2026.
Early information outlines premium hardware, which will have to contend with rising production costs and a software market that is currently not very active.

Thanks to the discovery by user ToastConcern and the full video later published by NoriDoesVR, detailed screenshots of the device’s initial configuration process emerged. What was internally called with various code names, including Puffin, Loma and finally Phoenix, presents itself with an extremely slim profile, almost resembling a large pair of glasses.
