Usually Redmi devices presented in China arrive on our shores under the POCO brand. In recent hours details about the K100 series have emerged, useful to know in advance our POCO F9 Pro and now it’s time for the next flagship model of the X family.
Among the upcoming novelties for the Xiaomi sub-brand there will be Redmi Turbo 6 Max, a device that should arrive here as POCO X9 Pro Max. Some hardware aspects leaked some time ago, while the latest additions concern a design change, with a look that could lean toward the controversial iPhone Air.
Redmi Turbo 6 Max could have an iPhone Air-style design
The latest rumors about Redmi Turbo 6 Max talk about a radical style change, with an oval camera module (capsule-shaped) positioned horizontally at the center of the chassis.
The appearance of the phone seems to recall that of iPhone Air, the first ultra-thin smartphone from Cupertino. To differentiate it from the iPhone 17 family and emphasize its status as a separate line from the main lineup, Apple has chosen a different aesthetic approach.

As mentioned earlier, the device is expected in China but should make its appearance in Italy as POCO X9 Pro Max – as happened in the transition from Redmi Turbo 5 Max to POCO X8 Pro Max. Given the current models, no major changes to the specifications are expected, apart from the battery.
Our X8 Pro Max features an 8,500 mAh battery, but the Chinese variant goes up to 9,000 mAh. Consequently, it seems plausible to speculate that the same fate will befall the next smartphone.

We keep our fingers crossed and hope we’re wrong: the Redmi Turbo 6 Max is set to debut in China with a whopping 10,000 mAh, so the Global twin could be the first POCO with a battery like that.
This aspect remains uncertain, and all that remains is to keep our fingers crossed; as for the rest of the lineup, there are rumors of a large screen AMOLED 7-inch with 2K resolution while the chipset is expected to be a MediaTek solution.
Lei Jun’s company could opt to keep the same Dimensity 9500s of the current generation (to save on costs) while according to other leaks there would be the unreleased Dimensity 9600s.
The launch of the new smartphones is expected in the first quarter of 2027: the Redmi model could fit in January and its cousin in March, following the timelines seen this year.
