The Chinese company has announced the OPPO Reno 16 series in various Global markets and, as was to be expected, the phones show some differences compared to the models launched in China in May. Let’s discover all the news about these devices, which will most likely be the same ones that will be launched in Italy in early July: here are all the details and the complete specifications, while we await their release at our latitudes.
OPPO Reno 16, 16 Pro and 16 F are official in Global version
As for the design, the aesthetics do not change: the OPPO Reno 16 Global models feature a squared camera module containing the sensors and a ring LED flash. All models present an almost identical look and are equipped with a side AI Button and IP68/IP69K waterproof shells.
Compared to the Chinese models, the Pro variant loses wireless charging and the 7,000 mAh battery, and the chipsets and display also change.
OPPO Reno 16 Pro sports a 6.32″ AMOLED display with 1.5K resolution and a 144 Hz refresh rate, and brightness up to 1,800 nits. The core of the experience is the MediaTek Dimensity 8550 Super SoC, with LPDDR5X memory and UFS 3.1; all powered by a 6,700 mAh battery with 80W charging.
The camera setup includes a 200 MP sensor, supported by an ultra-wide and a periscope telephoto (both 50 MP). The selfie camera is a 50 MP unit with a 100° FOV and autofocus – applies to all models in the Global series.
OPPO Reno 16 base presents the same 6.32″ display but with a 120 Hz refresh rate. The battery is identical and so is the charging; however, the chipset changes (one Snapdragon 7 Gen 4) and the cameras, or more precisely the main sensor, which drops to 50 MP. The ultra-wide and the 50 MP periscopic telephoto remain present.
Things change with the OPPO Reno 16 F: the entry-level model moves to a 6.57″ display while the battery rises to 7,000 mAh (still with 80W charging). The camera package is slightly reduced: there is a 50 MP sensor, an 8 MP ultra-wide and a 50 MP telephoto (standard, no periscope zoom).
Prices for the series start at around €421 at current exchange rates, but it’s essentially pointless to compare: we’re talking about Asian markets and the euro conversion will never be precise, so it’s best to wait for the Italy event. The debut is set for the 1st July, so the launch is just around the corner.
