Samsung is preparing to expand its offering in the sector of foldable smartphones with an unprecedented strategy, which envisages the launch of two distinct devices with a book-like form factor.
After weeks of conflicting rumors about the commercial names, concrete and official proof arrives regarding the flagship model of the lineup.
The certification body Bluetooth SIG has in fact added to its database the registration of the most awaited device, definitively confirming the existence of the Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra.
Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra has been confirmed but not by Samsung

This institutional appearance ends the uncertainty generated last month by alleged internal naming changes, when some sources claimed that the base version would bear the suffix “Wide” and the premium one would simply be called “Fold 8“.
Now the cards on the table are clear: there will be a clear separation between the standard variant and the new Ultra edition.
The certifying body’s document does not go into the hardware specifications, but reports with absolute precision five model numbers associated with the smartphone for the various markets, identified by the codes SC-56G, SCG39, SM-F976C, SM-F976Q and finally SM-F976Z.
What’s New and Presentation Date
Unofficial information leaked in parallel to the certification allows outlining the differences between the two devices. The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra will have an open thickness of a record 4.1 mm. We are talking about a reduction of 0.1 millimeters compared to the already slim predecessor, the Galaxy Z Fold 7
The total weight of the Ultra variant will reach 215 g, a value justified by the integration of a 5,000 mAh battery, supported by a system of 45 W wired charging.
On the other hand, the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 8 in standard edition will focus more on portability and lightness, pinning the scale at 201 g. This slimming will entail a slight sacrifice in terms of energy capacity, which will drop to 4,800 mAh, while maintaining the 45 W charging speed shared with the bigger brother.
The Asian multinational has also paid a lot of attention to the multimedia segment. Regarding photography, the Fold 8 in the base version will count on a new 50 MP main camera, characterized by native support for capturing images in 24 MP mode, a detail designed to offer highly defined and detail-rich shots.
A crucial aspect for enthusiasts of the category concerns the central crease of the inner display: rumors indicate that both the Fold 8 and the Ultra variant will feature an almost imperceptible crease, achieving a visual aesthetic comparable to the excellent results achieved by the rival Oppo Find N6.
The public won’t have to wait long to discover all the secrets of these devices. The global launch event is very likely scheduled for the next July 22 at a big event in London, where the two book-form models will be officially unveiled together with the compact Galaxy Z Flip 8.
