According to recent reports from sources close to the supply chain, Apple is seriously considering introducing a red option for the upcoming iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max.
A new leak has provided a fairly clear idea of how this particular shade could look, although there are still no official and definitive confirmations.
iPhone 18 Pro shows itself in Deep Red in these new renders

The interesting news, however, is not limited to the bitten apple: Digital Chat Station, closely tied to the dynamics of Asian suppliers, has revealed that shades of a deep, intense red are currently in testing for several high-end Android smartphones set to launch.
The leaker deems highly likely that previous rumors about a dark red variant for the iPhone 18 Pro models are entirely accurate.
The reason for such certainty lies precisely in observing the movements of competing companies. Knowing that Android brands are experimenting with the same color palettes indicates that component and paint manufacturers are offering this specific finish to their main customers.
Consequently, multiple companies will launch their flagship devices in red in the coming months.
Still no black iPhone
In addition to purely aesthetic details, leaks provide an updated picture of the release timelines for the entire lineup.
The iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max will debut on the market later this year, naturally accompanied by the highly anticipated iPhone Ultra, the probable name of iPhone Fold.
On the other hand, for the less expensive versions you’ll have to wait a little longer: the base iPhone 18 model, a possible new iPhone Air 2, and the economical variant iPhone 18e are indeed planned for the start of next year.
Unfortunately for fans of sober and minimalist design, it seems the Californian company will not offer a black color option for the Pro models in the 18 series, confirming a trend already seen in recent rumors.
To find this completely classic shade, users will have to look elsewhere: sources indicate that the future foldable iPhone will be marketed exclusively in only two variants, white and black.
Apple experiments with colors
This particular choice fits into a broader strategy that has seen Apple dare with the colors of its devices in recent years.
Tones such as Overseas, purple, green and the Cosmic Orange have enjoyed excellent success among consumers, showing that the California company still wants to experiment.
An approach that has not limited itself to smartphones but has also involved the computer sector, as demonstrated by the recent line MacBook Neo, which has shaken the foundations of the premium laptop lineup by introducing playful and vibrant variants.
If the Deep Red imagined for the upcoming smartphones proves faithful to the recently leaked images, the new devices will undoubtedly be among the most elegant products coming this year.
