The Google Pixel smartphones are Coachella’s official smartphones, streaming live on YouTube in 4K

The renowned music festival Coachella is just around the corner, and for the 2026 edition, the coverage promises a level of immersion of the highest quality for anyone who decides to follow the event from home.

From April 10, precisely at 4:00 PM Pacific Time (1:00 AM on April 11 in Italy), YouTube will become the global virtual stage for the highly anticipated Californian event.

Fans already have the option to activate notifications to ensure they don’t miss even a moment of the broadcasts’ start, preparing for an interactive experience rich in technological innovations, including the use of the Google Pixel smartphones to share the most important moments.

YouTube and Coachella: a top-tier production at the intersection of 4K and Google Pixel

The organization has unveiled the broadcast details, confirming a live coverage extended to as many as seven stages distributed across the expansive festival grounds.

The real technical excellence this year concerns the adoption of the 4K format for the main performances. Specifically, the Coachella Stage, the Outdoor Theatre and the Sahara venue will benefit from this high resolution, delivering exceptional sharpness to viewers.

Alongside this traditional offering, a high-profile technical partnership emerges for creating content specifically designed for the YouTube Shorts format.

For the Quasar stage, vertical filming will be carried out exclusively using the Google Pixel. This choice will provide users with unprecedented angles, leveraging the photography and video capabilities of the company’s smartphones to capture the energy of live music from close and dynamic perspectives.

The return of Multiview and the continuous themed channel

The at-home viewing experience is further enriched by the introduction of Coachella TV, a true 24 hours a day station. This special programming offers an uninterrupted stream that blends the highlights of the 2026 edition with historic performances drawn from the festival archives, creating a continuous musical journey already partially accessible to the public.

Considering that during the previous edition more than half of the total streaming viewing time was generated by TVs, the return of the Multiview feature takes on fundamental importance for home users.

Viewers with smart TVs won’t have to forgo any artist on the lineup, being able to display up to four stages simultaneously. The system allows switching from one audio track to another with ease, offering the freedom to customize viewing in real time by following multiple concerts in overlap.

Exclusive purchases and smart assistance for viewers

Beyond the purely musical component, this year’s broadcast includes several features designed to actively engage the community. Viewers will have access to a dedicated application, compatible with Android and iOS, designed to organize their personal schedule with the support of Gemini AI.

Meanwhile, the YouTube Shopping section will host launches of exclusive merchandise tied to prominent artists on the lineup, allowing fans to purchase official products from BINI, Ethel Cain, Foster the People, KATSEYE, Laufey, The xx, Turnstile and Young Thug during performances.

Finally, the coverage will be completed by the series “Watch With“, an initiative that will involve prominent platform content creators to comment on the performances and experience the event with the virtual audience.
