Meta and EssilorLuxottica have expanded their lineup of wearables by introducing a line designed specifically for those who need vision correction in eyeglasses.
This new iteration, which sits in the second generation of Ray-Ban Meta family, aims to solve the issue of prolonged comfort, allowing users to wear the technology at any time of day, just like a regular pair of eyeglasses.
Ray-Ban Meta Optics Official: For Everyone, All Day
The two new models, named Blayzer Optics and Scriber Optics, feature frames that are slightly thinner and a series of structural adjustments designed to fit different face shapes. The Blayzer offers a rectangular design, available in Standard and Large sizes, while the Scriber variant presents more rounded lines in a single size.
To ensure an optimal fit from morning to evening, the company has integrated hyper-extended hinges, capable of opening 10 degrees more than classic versions, reducing the annoying lateral pressure on the head. Personalization is further guaranteed by interchangeable nose pads and temple tips that can be shaped precisely by your trusted optician.
From a purely technological standpoint, the Optics line maintains the performance of the second generation, delivering up to 8 hours of battery life.
The only notable hardware difference compared to the other models is the addition of a sixth microphone positioned near the nose pads, designed to improve voice capture.
The charging case, presented in a stylish dark brown finish, provides up to 6 full charges.
The devices will arrive on the market on the April 14, debuting in the United States and select international markets, backed by a widespread distribution in physical specialty stores such as Salmoiraghi & Viganò, Sunglass Hut and Grand Vision Optical.
The starting price for the frames alone is set at $499 (Italy price to be confirmed), to which the cost of graduated lenses will be added, perfectly compatible even in progressive or photochromic formats.

The hardware update is accompanied by major software innovations for Meta’s artificial intelligence.
The glasses introduce new food-tracking features: with a simple voice command or by taking a photo of what you are eating, the assistant can estimate nutritional values and log them in a personal diary, then offer targeted advice.
Language capabilities are enhanced with real-time translations that will expand to include 20 languages, including Arabic, Mandarin and Japanese.
Additionally, Meta AI will allow you to generate summaries for conversations and longer group chats on WhatsApp, while preserving privacy guaranteed by end-to-end encryption.
Oakley range updates
The collaboration between the two companies also brings fresh air to the Oakley brand, with the introduction of new variants for the Vanguard and HSTN models.
The focus here is on athletes who require optimal visual performance in different conditions, also marking the debut of Transitions lenses on Vanguard models for a perfect adaptation to changing ambient light.
