The next flagship of the Japanese brand could mark a turning point in design. After several generations, it seems that the moment for a shift with a new look has arrived: the first images dedicated to Sony Xperia 1 VIII should be taken with extreme caution, but they could represent a tangible preview of what we can expect with the new device.
Change of look for Sony Xperia 1 VIII: Is it time for a new style for the Camera Phone?

The renders in question were published on the Weibo social network and picked up by outlets as well as Xperia enthusiast communities. Based on what has emerged, the design change should be real – we are still dealing with rumors – but the leaked images would be imperfect and only indicative.
At this point there is nothing left but to wait for the unofficial renders, to discover how the look of Sony Xperia 1 VIII will actually be. However the style would approach the final one: the flagship would no longer have a vertical triple camera, but a module square containing sensors and LED flash.

The front would be occupied by a large display with a central punch hole, while along the edges the volume rocker, the power button with fingerprint reader, and the classic camera button would not be missing.
Regarding technical details, for now information is sparse: clearly we expect the latest Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5, while for the photographic component there are rumors of adopting a 200 MP main sensor. For the release period, we look to the month of May, the same period as the current Xperia 1 VII.
