vivo prepares its 10,000 mAh Battery Phone to challenge Honor and Realme

The year 2025 closed with a curious trend, which until a while ago we would have considered unreal: that of 10,000 mAh Battery Phones, but without rugged aesthetics and with a slim profile. Honor has kicked off the trend, proving that it’s possible to actually build a flagship, then do the same in the mid-range.

This news is in development for other Chinese brands as well, and according to the latest rumors vivo would also be ready to throw its hat in the ring.

According to insider Digital Chat Station, the vivo 10,000 mAh smartphone would currently be in testing. The device would mount a single-cell unit at 4.53V with a nominal capacity of 10,000 mAh, but this could translate into a typical capacity of 11,000/12,000 mAh.

To be precise, the nominal capacity is the minimum declared by the manufacturer, while the typical capacity is the average capacity observed during production. It isn’t possible to create identical cells with precision, so some batteries have a slightly higher or lower capacity (which then translates into an average).

For the moment there are no details, but it is possible that vivo’s smartphone will not be part of a mainline series, so no X500 with mega battery (if that’s what you were thinking). Usually these Battery Phone “experimental” devices are produced in new, unheard-of series or as alternative versions.

Honor Win is the first flagship with a 10,000 mAh battery, while Power 2 belongs to the mid-range; in both cases these are families of devices that are not part of the main lineup. The same goes for Realme P4 Power, announced at the end of January. Additionally, Xiaomi and Redmi would also be working on a 10,000 mAh phone, but for now there are no details.
