Rumors about Redmi’s Gaming Phone are growing increasingly persistent

Recently we’ve discussed the possible return of Black Shark and the current landscape of gaming smartphones. Despite the critical outlook, this type of phone continues to survive even under deceptive appearances (phones with a classic look, but gaming-focused features).

In Redmi’s future there will be a similar experiment: there have long been rumors of a Gaming Phone from Xiaomi’s stable, and now additional details about this possible new development have emerged.

Redmi could rival Gaming Phones: working on a smartphone with a fan and minimalist design

As often happens, these are previews from Digital Chat Station: the Chinese insider is often reliable but still should be taken with caution. Based on what has emerged, Redmi would be working on a sort of Gaming Phone with Snapdragon 8 Elite; therefore not a top-of-the-line, but a mid-to-high-end model.

The device would feature a large flat OLED screen with a high refresh rate, an 8,000 mAh battery, stereo speakers, an ultrasonic fingerprint reader, IP68/IP69 rating and an integrated fan.

This isn’t the first time the alleged Redmi gaming phone has been talked about; however in previous leaks they looked toward the Dimensity 9500. Probably things have changed along the way, but the fact remains that we can expect a design minimal – without aggressive lines and LED lights, typical details of pure Gaming Phones.

Rumor has it that Redmi K90 Ultra will have a cooling fan, and that this feature could find space also on our Xiaomi 17T Pro. We can hypothesize that Gaming Phone-style smartphones with a fan will be two, both under the Redmi brand: so in the coming months there will be a flagship model and one mid-high-end.

Or the Xiaomi branch may have decided to drop the Ultra version and adopt this feature on a separate phone. At the moment everything is still unclear, so there is still a need to wait for further details. However one thing should be certain: the existence of a Redmi smartphone with an integrated fan.
