The first render images of Samsung Galaxy S27 Pro and Ultra, circulated in the past weeks, had already hinted at a significant change in look compared to the traditional vertical camera module of the S series.
A new leak, this time based on third-party cases already in circulation, seems to confirm that direction and adds a detail that until now wasn’t entirely clear: the new design won’t apply to the entire lineup, but only to a portion.
Vertical camera for Galaxy S27 and S27+, horizontal island for the Pro and Ultra models
According to what emerged from the cases, Galaxy S27 and Galaxy S27+ would maintain the ‘classic’ camera layout of the latest generations, with sensors arranged vertically in separate and protruding modules.
The bigger siblings Galaxy S27 Pro and Galaxy S27 Ultra, instead, would adopt a completely different design: a single, wider horizontal island positioned at the top of the rear body, with a style close to that of the iPhone 17 Pro/Pro Max.
The choice would not be purely aesthetic: the new arrangement would make room for larger camera sensors and a more efficient cooling system. As hinted at in the opening, the new look for part of the series had already been anticipated by render leaks.
The Galaxy S27 Ultra’s telephoto lens changes again: talk now centers on a 4x
On the camera side, the most interesting detail concerns the Galaxy S27 Ultra’s telephoto lens: the most recent rumors now talk about a 4x module with a larger sensor than before, a shift from previous rumors that instead indicated a 5x telephoto lens of 50 MP.
As for the Galaxy S27 Pro, rumors indicate that it would share with the Ultra both the main sensor and the ultra-wide, differentiating itself mainly by a slightly more compact display, 6.6″, and by the absence of the S Pen.
2 nm chip, Qi2 charging and display
On the hardware side, rumors continue to talk about a 2 nm chip, whether it is the Exynos 2700 or the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 Pro depending on the market.
Among other rumored features there would be possible support for Qi2 magnetic charging across the entire lineup, as well as a potential BOE debut as the OLED panel supplier. Again these are unconfirmed rumors, with the Galaxy S27 series expected to launch in February 2027.
