OnePlus is reportedly working on an innovative cooling solution for the Ace 7 series: according to the leaker Digital Chat Station, the device would include an active cooling fan paired with the Wind Chase kernel, designed to improve performance during prolonged gaming sessions.
OnePlus Ace 7: how the fan would work and the other leaked specs
Unlike passive cooling systems, such as the 6,000 mm2 vapor chamber of the onboard system of OnePlus Ace 6 Ultra, the active fan is able to move air through the device to expel heat.
This enables the processor to sustain peak performance longer before reducing the clock frequency; it’s a feature widely used for gaming smartphones and could now make its first appearance on a brand’s phone.
Moreover, as noted at the outset, OnePlus is continuing development of its Wind Chase Game Kernel, a technology introduced with Ace 6 Ultra and aimed at improving gaming performance while reducing power consumption.
According to Digital Chat Station, the same leaker who previously hinted at a 185 Hz display and up to 16 GB of RAM for the series, the OnePlus Ace 7 would mount the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 SoC. On the software side, the device should arrive with ColorOS 17 preinstalled.
The Ace lineup is exclusive to the Chinese market, however it is interesting for its global implications. Our 15R is a rebrand of the Ace 6T model, so the next OnePlus 16R (already mentioned by an insider) could draw heavily from the Chinese series.
