Although market attention is currently focused on the smartphone series recently arrived in stores, rumors about Apple‘s long-term plans are already circulating with great insistence.
The latest information from the supply chain suggests that the company is testing new aesthetic solutions for the upcoming anniversary models.
There is talk specifically of screens completely bezel-free, rounded on all four sides and characterized by a front camera cutout reduced to the minimum, with the aim of offering a totally immersive viewing experience.
iPhone 20 Pro and Pro Max, quad-curved display and smaller notch
The rumors spread online by the well-known informer Digital Chat Station via the platform Weibo provide fairly precise details about the display specifications currently under evaluation.
The most compact model, namely the hypothetical iPhone 20 Pro, should mount a panel of 6.41 inches with a resolution of 2,686 x 1,236 pixels. The larger variant, iPhone 20 Pro Max, would push up to a diagonal of 6.96 inches, supported by a resolution of 2,912 x 1,340 pixels.
While these numbers follow current dimensions, the real breaking point compared to the past lies in how these screens will be physically integrated into the device’s chassis.
Farewell to flat displays?
The most notable detail of this leak is indeed the elimination of the black borders that traditionally delimit the active area of the smartphone.
Apple would be experimenting with a quad-curved design, in which the glass surface slides smoothly toward the chassis not only along the side edges, but also at the top and bottom ends of the device.
This choice would be accompanied by a front-camera cutout of extremely small dimensions, designed to host the front sensors while stealing as little space as possible.
