iPhone Ultra getting closer to reality: the films ‘confirm’ the design

The debut of Apple’s first foldable smartphone is approaching, and today insider Ice Universe adds a new piece. The design of iPhone Ultra (this is the most likely name among leaks) is now known, but there is always room for further confirmations.

This time it’s up to an accessory manufacturer: leaked images show the protective films for the display of the smartphone, revealing how the exterior aesthetics could look.

The first Apple foldable will have a Galaxy Z Fold 8-inspired design

In reality we already had a kind of preview of the iPhone Ultra, all thanks to Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 8. Released recently, and already the centerpiece of our review, it is the first wide-format foldable from the Asian giant.

Also the iPhone Ultra will have a similar look: no narrow and elongated screens, but panels with a 4:3 aspect ratio, for a shape similar to a passport. The benefits are numerous, starting with more compact dimensions, an external screen more similar to that of a traditional smartphone (indeed, slightly wider but without bulk).

The real miracle happens on opening: the phone transforms into a small tablet, with graceful proportions and ample space for multitasking and multimedia content.

New leak photos show a standard protective film and a Privacy version with darkening when viewed from the side. The shape is unusual and different from that of the Z Fold 8: Samsung’s model has straight edges and rounded corners, while the iPhone Ultra would change style.

The Apple device seems to have squared corners along the edge adjacent to the hinge, while on the opposite side the corners are strongly rounded. In the top right there is the cutout for the selfie camera.

iPhone Ultra nears its debut: set to be a challenge to Galaxy Z Fold 8

The launch of iPhone Ultra is scheduled for the usual September event, as a special guest alongside the iPhone 18 series.

Waiting for the debut, rumors continue and among the latest news we learn that Apple’s possible plans: the first foldable won’t be an experiment or a fashion exercise, but it seems that it will become a fixed fixture in the brand’s smartphone lineup.
