Redmi Note 17 Pro teardown: the internal secrets of the new 9,000 mAh giant

A few days after its debut in China, Redmi Note 17 Pro is already under the knife. A teardown video has in fact shown in detail the internal structure of the smartphone, highlighting some of the solutions adopted by Xiaomi to maximize endurance, heat dissipation and durability.

The standout feature is undoubtedly the 9,000 mAh battery, but the device also hides several interesting technical choices.

After removing the plastic rear cover, the teardown reveals a protective foam layer designed to improve water and dust resistance.

The most evident element is, however, the 9.000 mAh battery, produced by Sunwoda and characterized by a 13% silicon content. Clearly we are talking about a silicon-carbon solution, which allows increasing energy density while keeping compact dimensions.

With a high capacity, fast charging support could not be missing: the 67W charger included in the box completes a 0 to 100% in about 84 minutes, with a maximum detected power of 54.7W.

To manage heat, Xiaomi has integrated a 4,700 mm2 vapor chamber, located under the display. The internal frame uses instead an HZH5.9 alloy, which offers 30% higher rigidity than the previous generation.

Inside there is also the NFC coil, positioned next to the camera module, and a thermal film that promotes heat transfer between the battery and the motherboard.

Redmi Note 17 Pro uses RAM LPDDR4X together with storage UFS 4.0 produced by Samsung. However, due to the limitations of the Snapdragon 6s Gen 4 processor, the performance is equivalent to the UFS 3.1 standard.

The camera system includes a Samsung ISOCELL JN5 main sensor, while the front camera is based on the OmniVision OV08F sensor. Among other features are a USB 2.0 port, two microphones and an ultrasonic proximity sensor.

The teardown has also highlighted the display performance. According to tests, the panel reaches around 863 nits with manual brightness, climbs to 1.100 nits in high-brightness mode and can exceed 3.800 nits peak on limited portions of the screen.

Overall, the video confirms that Redmi Note 17 Pro was designed to prioritize endurance and solidity above all. At the moment the series has been unveiled in China and there is no official information on a global debut; however, in recent hours, a possible date (very near) but pertaining to the Indian market.
